Abstract
The present contribution on sphaeromatid isopods from shallow water co ral reef locations in Kenya reports on four new species in the genera Afrocereis n.gen., Paracilicea Stebbing, 1910 and Paradella Harrison a nd Holdich, 1982. They are described in detail, with remarks on their interspecific affinities, habitat preference and biogeography. A descr iption is further provided for Dynamenella scaptocephala Messana, 1990 . Paracassidinopsis perlata (Roman, 1974) is first recorded from the A frican continent.
