Ms. Cortez et al., MEMBRANOPROLIFERATIVE GLOMERULONEPHRITIS WITH PRIMARY SJOGRENS-SYNDROME, American journal of kidney diseases, 25(4), 1995, pp. 632-636
Glomerular involvement in primary Sjogren's syndrome is rare and only
five cases of membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis have been repor
ted. We present a case of a 31-year-old white woman with primary Sjogr
en's syndrome who developed nephrotic syndrome. Evaluation showed no e
vidence of an associated connective tissue disease. Kidney biopsy was
consistent with type I membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis. The p
atient's nephrotic syndrome resolved spontaneously, a course that has
not been reported previously in this setting. (C) 1995 by the National
