Abstract
This review of the electroencephalography (EEG) of the elderly is conc erned with definitions of terms; normal EEG variability during wakeful ness, drowsiness, and sleep; paroxysmal activity; and EEG (including r esults of computerized spectral analysis) in selected disorders common ly affecting the elderly.
