In this paper, a comprehensive survey about a new method for the solut
ion of the Ward and Tordai equation is presented. The method is applie
d for describing the kinetic behavior of two different surfactant solu
tions. Their equilibrium surface tension sigma(e)-concentration C isot
herms are well described with a new approach of surface equation of st
ate that was presented in a previous paper.(1) Not only does this allo
w one to describe the entire equilibrium surface tension-concentration
isotherm but it can also be used to describe the dynamic surface tens
ions by the Ward and Tordai equation(2) quite well. The dynamic surfac
e behavior of the two surfactant systems reveals a diffusion-controlle
d adsorption kinetics. From this evaluation, we are confident that we
can solve the integral equation of Ward and Tordai for any type of sur
face equation of state by computer. This method can be used to estimat
e the kinetic adsorption process of surfactant solutions more convenie
ntly.
