The ruminant eye may be afflicted by several diseases requiring surgic
al intervention. Severe unresponsive cases of infectious bovine kerato
conjunctivitis, bovine ocular squamous cell carcinoma (BOSCC), and tra
uma represent the most common. The surgical techniques that have been
described range from minor protective techniques to radial resections
and reconstructions. The procedures to be described here are only thos
e considered to be ''field'' techniques.
