Abstract
In 1991, up to 38 g L(-1) hexazinone was found in 50% of surface runof f and 27% of groundwater samples at Lethbridge. No herbicides were det ected in surface runoff from irrigation at Taber, but 2,4-D, bromoxyni l, dicamba, mecoprop, MCPA and diclofop were found in 48, 34, 21, 16, 13 and 9%, respectively, of groundwater samples, and bromoxynil exceed ed the Canadian drinking guideline (5.0 mu g L(-1)) in 11% of samples.
