Abstract
Two types of power inverters for color-LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) ba cklights have been developed using piezoelectric transformers. These i nverters are very compact, especially in height, and give high power c onversion efficiency compared with conventional electromagnetic transf ormer types. This new technology is expected to make revolutionary cha nges in small-power inverters and converters.
