Abstract
This study assessed differences between the ways that counseling stude nts in Thailand and the United States perceived the constructs of the Past and the Future. The evaluative and potency scales of a semantic d ifferential were used to compare the student's perceptions of these co nstructs. One finding of the study was that Thai students evaluated th e Future more positively than American students, while American studen ts rated the potency of the Future higher than Thai students.
