DATA MODEL MANAGEMENT IN A CLINICAL SERVICE - APPLICATION IN AN ECHOGRAPHY UNIT FOR TOCHO-GYNECOLOGY

The organization and management of clinical information must take plac e according to the classical concept of department section or specialt y area. Traditional organization and communication models must be resp ected, and those to be executed by the computer system must be develop ed on top of them. Information models that describe the organic struct ure of any specialty area must be proposed independently from the cont ent and with the possibility of particularizing in each case. Taking t hese specifications into account and using our general entity relation ship model for a specialty service, we present the description of the 'central clinical services function, particularizing for an echography unit within a tocho-gynaecology area. We present entity and relations hip tables, data dictionary and organization and description of the ba sic user views.
