Abstract
An optimal guidance method that exhibits reduced sensitivity to the er ror in time-to-go estimation is presented, Estimation of target accele ration is not required under this scheme, The pains of the reduced-sen sitivity guidance law are given in terms of the inversion of a 3 x 3 m atrix, the entries of which are expressed in closed form, The performa nce of this new guidance method is compared (via simulations) to the m inimum-effort-guidance law and to proportional navigation for various error sources that affect the miss distance and as a function of the t ime to go estimation error.
