The evolution of an inhomogeneous spherically symmetric cosmological m
odel proposed by Modak is analysed assuming a generalized heat transpo
rt equation. Analytical solutions are found after adopting reasonable
expressions for the coefficient of heat conductivity and relaxation ti
me. In one of the cases the expanding universe geometry tends to a qua
si-flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker one. The physical behaviour of such
a universe is analysed together with the energy conditions.
