Laser-induced fluorescence from Se-80(2)(B(0u+), states has been exami
ned and the fluorescence lifetimes of a number of unperturbed rovibrat
ional levels of the B state measured. A collision-free lifetime of 47
+/- 4 ns is reported for the upsilon = 3-6, J < 82 levels of the B sta
te. The average of the square of the transition electric dipole moment
for Se-80(2)(B-X) has been deduced from experimental lifetimes and Fr
anck-Condon factors to be \mu(e)\2 = 8.06 +/- 0.66 D2.
