THE 3 CONDITIONS OF A GOOD LINE PARAMETERIZATION

This paper introduces three criteria, namely, Uniqueness, Boundedness, and Uniformness, to evaluate the performance of different line parame terizations. We find that for the Hough transform, any good line param eterization must satisfy all the above three conditions, and that some frequently used line parameterizations violate one or more such condi tions, especially the uniformness condition.
