Abstract
This article reports findings resulting from a constructivist study ex ploring the culture of a long-established, liberal arts women's colleg e as revealed through its formal, administratively sponsored rituals. The essay explains the metaphors offered by respondents to explain the ways they understand and make meaning of the ritual process so centra l to their college life.
