Abstract
Far East Asia shows a lot of epidemiologic situations in functions of various species of schistosomes seen. Some of them are widespread, Som e are only seen in animals (Schistosoma sinensium), when others are ca use of zoonotic infections (Schistosoma japonicum, S. malayensis, S. m ansoni-like). Except for S. mansoni-like from Thailande, all other spe cies belong to the japonicum complex. Its particularity is to have und ergrown a concomitant evolution with its intermediary hosts from a com mon ancestor.
