Abstract
Some aspects of axial charge and current in pion production and absorp tion are reviewed. In addition to recent new mechanisms proposed to ex plain threshold pp --> pp pi(0), the role of the Gamma(1232) isobar is reiterated also in the two-nucleon axial charge.
