A partial wave amplitude analysis of <(p)over bar p> --> pi(-) pi(+) a
nd <(p)over bar p> --> K- K+ has been performed for data obtained at L
EAR in the range p(lab) = 390 - 1000 MeV/c. For <(p)over bar p> --> pi
(-)pi(+) partial wave amplitudes with J = 0, 1, 2, and 3 are required,
while for <(p)over bar p> --> K-K+ amplitudes with J = 0, 1, and 2 ar
e sufficient to fit the data in this energy range.
