Abstract
We propose a theoretical tool to determine the dependence of the disto rtion angle on the applied magnetic field in a lyotropic mixture of so dium decylsulfate, decanol and water in the nematic calamitic phase wi th and without ferrofluid. The results indicate the dependence of the amplitude of the modulated structure on the magnetization of nematics.
