VIRUSES OF GROUNDNUTS IN AFRICA

Groundnut is a globally important oilseeds crop and a valuable source of protein in a number of countries. The crop is unfortunately beset b y a number of economically important virus diseases such as groundnut rosette disease, and is infected by peanut clump virus, peanut stripe virus, and tomato spotted wilt virus. Numerous plant virologists, ento mologists and plant breeders worldwide ide are therefore involved in r esearch on various aspects these diseases.
