This article presents information regarding the epidemiology of trauma
tic brain injury (TBI) in culturally diverse populations and factors t
hat must be considered when providing services to these persons and th
eir families (eg. language, level of acculturation, family values). Is
sues of assessment and treatment are also discussed. Recommendations f
or education and training of rehabilitation professionals and for prov
iding effective clinical interventions to culturally diverse people wi
th TBI and their families are provided.
