C. Erkey et al., ISOBUTYLENE PRODUCTION FROM SYNTHESIS GAS OVER ZIRCONIA IN A SLURRY REACTOR, Industrial & engineering chemistry research, 34(4), 1995, pp. 1021-1026
Selective formation of isobutylene from synthesis gas over two types o
f zirconia was investigated in a laboratory slurry reactor. Experiment
s were conducted to determine the effects of space velocity and CO/H-2
ratio on CO conversion and hydrocarbon product distribution. Comparis
ons have been made to fixed bed reactor data. A reactor model in the a
bsence of mass transfer limitations was found to represent the experim
ental data closely with rate expressions obtained from fixed bed react
or studies.
