Abstract
Several finite element formulations in terms of various potentials are reviewed for the calculation of transient eddy currents in nonlinear media. A fast and simple iterative technique is used to solve the nonl inear algebraic equations arising. The different formulations are comp ared by solving some large three dimensional problems by various metho ds.
