Vc. Silva et al., SURFACE IMPEDANCE METHOD APPLIED TO THE PREDICTION OF EDDY CURRENTS IN HYDROGENERATOR STATOR REGIONS, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 31(3), 1995, pp. 2072-2075
A three-dimensional finite-element analysis is employed to investigate
the losses of hydrogenerator stator end regions by using surface-impe
dance boundary conditions. The three-dimensional complexity of the end
-winding geometry is fully taken into account by the model. The purpos
e of this work is also to evaluate the eddy-current paths allowing for
slits in the stator teeth and their effectiveness in reducing stator
core-end losses.
