Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present an easy method for analyzing t he operating characteristics of a separate-type transformer connected to an external circuit including elements such as batteries, resistanc es, and diodes. This method, a combination of two- and three-dimension al finite element methods, has been applied to a transformer connected to a compact battery charger to obtain its output characteristics. Th e utility of this method has been verified by comparing the measured r esults.
