Abstract
This paper describes a series of benchmark experiments for studying th e leakage flux pattern that is created above an annealed steel plate w hen a corrosion pit is present, using finite elements. Two different d efect profiles have been chosen in order to demonstrate that it is pos sible to determine the shape of the corrosion pit from the calculated leakage flux pattern.
