Two cases of recurrent noninvasive Paget's disease of the vulva in a s
plit-thickness graft without an underlying adenocarcinoma are presente
d. This is the third report of recurrence of extramammary Paget's dise
ase in a split-thickness graft, and the second of such an occurrence w
ithout an underlying dermal adnexa adenocarcinoma. A hypothesis for th
e possible pathogenetic mechanism of this unusual biological behavior
is suggested. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
