When the two epidemics of listeriosis in France in 1992 and 1993, a sp
ecific device involving the food control authorities and the epidemiol
ogical centres was created to determine the food origin of these two o
utbreaks. This device and the results of the microbiological investiga
tions conducted by the DGCCRF, one of the two control authorities are
presented below.
