Abstract
We present an astrometric grid in a 3' x 3' field around the centre of the Galaxy. We have calibrated Gunn i CCD frames using contemporary p ositions from the Carlsberg Automatic Meridian Circle. Included are IR R 1, IRR 2 and 52 other stars generally in the magnitude range 15 < i < 20. The absolute accuracy in each coordinate at epoch 1993 is estima ted to 0.06 ''. We compare this very accurate new grid with previously published results.
