Abstract
New experimental results for scale-invariant implementations of the bi nary phase-only matched filter and the nonlinear joint transform corre lator using ferroelectric liquid-crystal spatial light modulators are presented. We provide a comparative study of both architectures for re al-time road-sign recognition. Signal-to-peak-noise ratios in excess o f 5 dB over a scale range of 1.0 to 2.0 are achieved under realistic c onditions of clutter.
