Abstract
The Henry Draper Extension Charts (HDEC), published in the form of fin ding charts, provide spectral classification for some 87 000 stars mos tly between 10th and 11th magnitude. This data, being highly valuable, as yet was practically unusable for modern computer-based astronomy. An earlier pilot project (Roser et al. 1991) demonstrated a possibilit y to convert this into a star catalogue, using measurements of cartesi an coordinates of stars on the charts and positions of the Astrographi c Catalogue (AC) for subsequent identification. We present here a fina l HDEC catalogue comprising accurate positions, proper motions, magnit udes and spectral classes for 86 933 stars of the Henry Draper Extensi on Charts.
