Abstract
The authors describe the development of a customised computer software package for easing the analysis of the UK 1991 Sample of Anonymised R ecords. The resulting USAR package is designed to be portable within t he Unix environment. It offers a number of features such as interactiv e table design, intelligent data interpretation, and fuzzy query. An e xample of SAR analysis is provided.
