Abstract
Veterinary administrative regulation for the protection of carnivores, for carrying out the immunization of dogs against rabies have been ch anged in Hungary during the past few years. Of them, the paragraphs ha ve been treated which are not unambiguous according to the experiences of the every day practice, as well as they should be pointed out due to their significance, they have been interpreted and commented in eac h case separately. Further modification of the regulation for controll ing rabies is necessary. Its necessity, as well as understanding is al so underlined. The process followed after the diagnosis of rabies or i ts suspect is the task of veterinary authorities. According to the pre sent regulations, stare compensation is given for killed farm animals but not for carnivores during the official process after having diagno sed rabies. The modification should also involve the compensation for domestic carnivores, independently that the animal in question is a br eeding animal or a pet. Nowadays, the immunization against rabies shou ld be carried out by a veterinary officer. Immuno-prophylaxis - indepe ndently of the type of diseases should be put into the sphere of servi ce. Thus, its effectuatian should be made possible for all veterinary surgeons with a license to practice. All registered vaccines (ensuring at least one year protection) can be used for immunization against ra bies. Safe conditions of the veterinary official observation have been detailed in case of rabies. Owing to the human cases of rabies observ ed in the recent past, the attention has been called up to the duty of bilateral exchange of information between human and veterinary author ities in case of rabies which is also drawn up-in the regulations.
