L. Vladescu et Z. Moldovan, CHELATE-FORMING RESIN PREPARED BY MODIFICATION OF ANION-EXCHANGE RESIN, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 39(10), 1994, pp. 1209-1213
A chelate-forming resin was prepared from a strongly basic anion-excha
nge resin, VIONIT AT 1 (Cl-), by treatment with Pyrocatechol-Violet (P
V). PV resin mas stable in 0.1 1-1M HCl and HNO3 respectively, and was
used in retention of Bi(III), Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) ions. Th
e sorbed Bi(III) can be eluted with 10% solution of thioureea in 0.1 M
HNO3, and determined spectrophotometrically in the effluent. The othe
r elements sorbed in PV resin were eluted with 0.1 M HCl and determine
d by complexanometric titration.
