P. Magre et al., TEMPERATURE AND CONCENTRATION MEASUREMENTS BY CARS IN COUNTERFLOW LAMINAR DIFFUSION FLAMES, Experiments in fluids, 18(5), 1995, pp. 376-382
The combination of broadband CARS thermometry on nitrogen with the nar
rowband technique, for detection of a second major species, is applied
to counterflow laminar propane-air diffusion dames. Temperature profi
les are measured for various conditions of strain and equivalence rati
o. Comparisons with 1D calculations of the flow with a detailed kineti
c mechanism are satisfactory. Some measurements of CO concentrations a
re performed. Feasability of temperature measurements when the propane
is replaced by liquid fuel (heptane) is demonstrated.
