Abstract
In this paper we show that if A = (a1,...,a2) is R-regular and A.I=I t hen (aOBAR1,...,aOBAR2) is not in general R/I-regular. On the other ha nd we show if F(i)=SIGMA(j)greater-than-or-equal-to 0f(ij) for any i=1 ,...,n, are in R[[X1,...,X(m)]] with (f10,...,f(h)0) is an R-regular s equence then (F1,...,F(h)) is regular in R [[X1,...,X(m)]]. These resu lts are answers to questions asked in [P].
