Abstract
Malayan Dwarf coconut has been reported to be susceptible to wind dama ge. This study assesses quantitatively the damage to selfed and outcro ssed Malayan Dwarf, grown in field experiments at different sites, whi ch resulted from the passage of Hurricane Gilbert across Jamaica in 19 88. Selfed Malayan Dwarf suffered higher mortality than the outcrosses tested.
