The redox properties of HCoO2- on a glassy carbon electrode in the abs
ence and presence of hydrogen peroxide have been investigated by using
cyclic voltammetry and UV-Vis spectroscopy in alkaline solution. Corr
esponding rotating ring-disk experiments showed that the disk current
increased by about 60% in the presence of HCoO2- confirming the import
ant role played by HCoO2- in the homogeneous decomposition of hydrogen
peroxide.
