Abstract
Modification of polymeric surfaces with xenon difluoride has been inve stigated using polyvinyltrimethylsilane as an example. From the data o f elemental analysis and IR and NMR spectroscopy it has been concluded that the fluorination is of superficial character. A possibility has been demonstrated oi improving the gas separating properties of polyme ric organosilicon membranes by fluorination with xenon difluoride.
