Magnetic moments of decuplet baryons have been calculated in a relativ
istic independent quark model with a phenomenological potential in equ
ally mixed scalar-vector harmonic form. Such a model has been succeess
ful in describing wide ranging hadronic phenomena in mesonic and baryo
nic sectors. Using the solutions of the constituent quark orbitals wit
h the model parameters taken from its earlier applications, the magnet
ic moments of decuplet baryons Delta(++) and Omega(-) have been obtain
ed which are in good agreement with the available experimental data. H
owever, the agreement is found to be much better when the magnetic mom
ent ratios such as mu(Delta++)/mu(p) and mu(Omega-)/mu(A) are consider
ed. Model predictions for the magnetic moments of other decuplet baryo
ns together with the charge radii have also been calculated which may
be verified in future experiments.
