Abstract
Vitamin-E radical-like radicals as intermediates and quinone as end-pr oduct have been observed upon the irradiation of solutions of cationic dye and beta-naphthol in CH3OH (lambda > 480 nm). Replacing polar CH3 OB by apolar C6H6 the transformation rate drastically diminishes.
