Abstract
Trioxabicyclononadienes 2 and 4, easily obtained by addition of nucleo philes to the stable alpha-oxoketene 1, are transformed into the corre sponding 2,4,6,8-tetraoxaadamantanes 3 and 5 in high yields by acid-ca talysed hydrolysis.
