Mc. Yang et al., ELECTRODEPOSITION OF NICKEL OXYHYDROXIDE FILMS THROUGH POLYMER MASKS, Journal of the Electrochemical Society, 142(4), 1995, pp. 1189-1193
Nickel oxyhydroxide films were electrodeposited through gelatin masks,
whose thicknesses may control the optical transmittances of the depos
ited electrochromic films. The difference of transmittance, Delta T-54
0, between bleaching and coloration states at wavelength of 540 nm had
a linear relationship with the gelatin mask thickness. Delta T-540 in
creased if nickel oxyhydroxide was prepared in agitated electrolyte. T
he electrodeposited films, prepared with gelatin masks, may have highe
r stability. These results showed the feasibility of fabricating an el
ectrochromic device with a controlled image whose contrast and brightn
ess are adjustable with potential or current.
