Oligomeric linear poly(butyleneglycol adipinates) have peen partitione
d with respect to the number of terminal hydroxy groups in a macromole
cule. The analysis was carried out by high-performance liquid chromato
graphy under critical conditions near the point of the coil-adsorbed c
oil transition. The critical regime, in which the molecules exhibit vi
rtually no partition with respect to their dimensions, was attained by
using standard chromatographic columns Lichrosphere-Si 100, Zorbax-NH
2, and Zorbax-Golden and a heptane-methyl ethyl ketone binary solvent.
The data on the content of non-, mono-, and bifunctional molecules in
the oligomers were extracted.
