Abstract
The synthesis and thermolysis of compounds [Fe(eta(5)-C5H5)(Co)(2)(C=C SiMe(3))] (3), 5)(Co)(2)[(mu-eta(2:2:1)-C=(CSiMe(3))Co-2(CO)(6)]} (5) and e(eta(5)-C5H5)(CO)(2)[(eta(2)-C=CSiMe(3))CuCl]}(2) (7) is describe d. In boiling toluene the homolytical cleavage of the Fe-C-C=C-sigma b ond in compounds 3 and 5 is observed, yielding dimeric [Fe(eta(5)-C5H5 )(CO)(2)](2) (8) and Me(3)SiC=C-C=CSiMe(3) (9) (thermolysis of 3) or [ Fe(eta(5)-C5H5)(CO)(2)](2) (8) and CO)(12)(mu(4)-eta(2:2:2:2)-Me(3)SiC =C-C=CSiMe(3))] (10) thermolysis of 5). The identity of all compounds is confirmed by analytical and spectroscopic (IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, M S) data.
