Abstract
Malignant melanoma is mt immunogenic tumor which can induce host humor al and cellular responses, and is a good model for development of anti -cancer immunotherapy. During the last decade systemically-administere d interferon and interleukin-2 have been used Advances bt immunology a nd molecular biology could allow a more specific and active immunother apy. Perspectives include chemo-immunotherapy, monoclonal antibodies a lone or in combination with cytotoxic agents, adoptive immunotherapy w ith tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL), gene therapy designed to inc rease tumor immunogenicity, and active immunotherapy with vaccines.
