Cranial nerve palsy can often be observed in Borrelia burgdorferi infe
ction. A dysphonic patient with a long lasting left-sided recurrent ne
rve palsy was treated with ceftriaxone, an antibiotic drug for the the
rapy of Lyme borreliosis. On the 7th day of application the paretic vo
cal fold showed recovering movements up to regular vocal fold function
and normal strobo-scopic results. Clinical and serologic constellatio
ns and their therapeutical implications are discussed.
