Abstract
Pneumonia due to Listeria monocytogenes is extremely uncommon. We repo rt the case of an 87-year-old woman with no underlying immunosuppressi ve disease who presented with listerial pneumonia. Cutaneous anergy an d a decrease in total lymphocyte count in this elderly woman could pre dispose her to listerial infection.
