M. Callant et al., EFFECT OF THE H2S AND H-2 PARTIAL PRESSURES ON THE HYDRODENITROGENATION (HDN) OF ANILINE AND INDOLE OVER A NIMOP-GAMMA-AL2O3 CATALYST, Bulletin des Societes chimiques belges, 104(4-5), 1995, pp. 245-251
We studied the effect of the H2S and the H-2 partial pressures on the
competitive HDN of aniline and indole over a NiMoP-gamma Al2O3 catalys
t. The reactions were carried out with a continuous-flow reactor at 5
MPa and 573 K. Our results confirm that H2S has a promoting effect on
the C-N bond cleavage and a detrimental effect on hydrogenation but, i
n contrast to what is reported in the literature, we found that the gl
obal effect of H2S on nitrogen removal is negative. We explained this
difference by the fact that, in our experiments, HDN is controlled by
the hydrogenation function of the catalysts. H-2 has an effect opposit
e to H2S and the parameter that can be considered is the ratio H2S/H-2
.
