Abstract
In this review are discussed the known modes of thiophene coordination (eta(1)(S), eta(2), eta(4) and eta(5)) in organometallic complexes. T heir structures, bonding and stabilities are related to the adsorption of thiophene on heterogeneous hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalysts. M odes of benzo[b]thiophene and dibenzothiophene coordination in organom etallic complexes are briefly summarized.
