Abstract
Guidelines for the conduct of ethical research are reviewed and applie d to the field of thanatology Unique aspects of bereavememt studies ar e identified and discussed in the context of socially sensitive resear ch. Questions are raised in an attempt to stimulate dialogue and debat e among thanatologists on the topic of ethics in bereavement research.
